A Pacific West Conference (as well referred to as a PacWest) is an intercollegiate college athletic conference affiliated with a NCAA’s Division 2. A PacWest was formed witharound 1992 whenever a Smashing Northwest Conference merged a Continental Divide Conference, in response to newly many member-departures & recently NCAA legislation requiring confrences to develop at least 6 members. Member institutions come in the american United States in the States of Hawaii, Montana & Just released Mexico. A PacWest doesn't compete inside football.
At one point a conference expanded to Xvi members, however inside 2001 member schools from either Wa, Alaska, California, & Oregon left to form a fresh Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Inside 2005, a non-Hawaii schools left to join a Heartland Conference, leaving a Pacific West Conference ii teams short of the NCAA membership requirement.
